VAGABOND – A Set OF JAPANESE STILL LIFE
Set Design
Where footwear meets arty set design—exploring the harmony of form, structure, and movement. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, the latest Vagabond collection is staged within an abstract, sculptural world, where fashion and object art seamlessly merge.
A boot seamlessly fused with the leg of a chair, as if it had always belonged there. Shoes entirely wrapped, mysteriously concealed yet undeniably present. Pairs reclining on delicate Japanese plates, blurring the boundary between fashion and still life. Each arrangement transforms the shoes into more than just accessories—they become elements of a visual narrative, studies in balance, composition, and materiality.
Set in a raw concrete space in Munich, the installation plays with contrast—restraint and expression, tradition and modernity. Elements of the set design were also incorporated into the press dinner table, extending the artistic concept beyond the installation and rounding off the experience in a refined, immersive way. My approach remains the same: creating a world where objects don’t just exist, but tell a story.

Inspired by Japanese simplicity and the beauty of imperfection — when objects become art and stillness awakens life. A delicate balance between form and function, where minimalism meets quiet luxury.

From concept to execution, I was responsible for art direction, prop selection, and set design, ensuring a seamless and well-balanced aesthetic. Each detail was thoughtfully curated to establish a strong visual identity that aligns with the project’s vision while bringing a unique and modern interpretation.

Objects and people merge into sculptural compositions — wrapped, framed, and integrated as though they were one. Fashion becomes art, and art becomes an extension of the body, creating a seamless dialogue between form and function
Shoes unfold like delicate origami, intertwined with organic textures and soft paper folds. Inspired by Japanese minimalism, the scene captures the quiet elegance of balance and transformation.
