Set Design
Daily Candy is a set design project for Mytheresa that captures the essence of sweetness in an abstract form. Rather than a literal representation of sugar and confections, the concept of indulgence, lightness, and playful elegance is translated through shapes, colors, and textures.
Fruits, vegetables, and citrus serve as key visual inspirations. Soft, organic curves reflect the roundness of peaches, berries, and cherries, while the flowing shapes of citrus fruits and figs add a sense of natural elegance. The color palette balances soft pastels like apricot pink, lemon yellow, and pistachio green with bold accents of cherry red and blackberry blue – creating a visual harmony between freshness and warmth.
The textures mirror the sensory diversity of sweetness and freshness: glossy, almost caramel-like surfaces evoke the sheen of ripe fruit juice or the smooth coating of candies. In contrast, matte, velvety finishes resemble the delicate skin of a plum or the soft surface of a pear. This interplay of textures creates a sensory tension – soft yet luxurious.
Light and shadow heighten the contrast between surfaces – glossy elements catch the light, recalling the sparkle of candied fruit, while matte areas ground the composition with understated elegance. Daily Candy is a visual experience: sweet but never saccharine – modern, refined, and timeless.
