BEneath the Board, Beyond the Table
Interior Design
A design story where chessboard elegance meets Italian indulgence.
Inspired by The Queen's Gambit, this concept blends the elegance of a classic trattoria with a modern retro twist. The iconic chessboard pattern, reimagined in warm brown and cream tones, takes center stage. Polished wood paneling, luxurious velvet, and organic shapes create a harmonious interplay of structure and warmth. A timeless color palette of ochre yellow, brown, and cream completes the design, making the trattoria a perfect fusion of nostalgia and contemporary style.

Tiles in warm tones such as brown, terracotta, cream, and black serve as a central design element. They are used for both flooring and wall surfaces, particularly in the kitchen and restrooms.
Their varied color combinations and patterns, ranging from chessboard designs to organic arrangements, add depth and distinctive accents to the spaces while seamlessly blending functionality with aesthetics.

»In this role, I focus on interior consulting, creative direction, and the development of cohesive spatial concepts tailored to each client’s needs. I support the early design process by defining the aesthetic framework and curating materials, color schemes, and visual elements to create a harmonious atmosphere. Execution is handled by the client or external collaborators based on the concept provided.«
